Speak the basics before you land.
Layover Lingo is a set of fast, honest mini-courses for travellers. Each one gives you a small, high-frequency core of a language — greetings, key phrases, numbers, and the handful of grammar patterns that let you build your own sentences — designed to be worked through in a single sitting, like a long flight.
Most apps drown you in vocabulary or gamified streaks. This borrows from the "Globish" idea: strip a language down to the ~150 words and few rules that unlock the most real communication, then teach them inside plug-and-play sentence templates so you leave able to make sentences, not just recite them.
It's a fast on-ramp to communicating the essentials with confidence. It is not a path to fluency, and it doesn't pretend to be. The goal is simple: help you connect with people when you travel.
Corrections, requests for a new language, or just hello — email [email protected]. Every sheet is a work in progress and feedback from native speakers is especially welcome.
